This frame (part# 47265-80) is OEM for 1980-1981 Sportster 1000cc engines. \\
Generally speaking, 79 to 81 rear fenders, seats, fuel tanks and oil tanks will not fit any other years and vice versa because the 79 to 81 frame is unique. ((IronMick of the XLFORUM http://xlforum.net/forums/showthread.php?t=2051008)) \\

The oil filter was relocated on 1980-up models and they were fitted with an external oil filter (no longer in the oil tank). \\ 
The filter mount on 80-81 models is located on a frame bracket between the engine and the oil tank. \\
It's under the seat in a awkward place to work with.
